Elin Hurvenes founded the Professional Boards Forum in 2002 when the Norwegian Government demanded 40 % women directors on company boards through tough legislation.
Business communities and chairmen were outraged by the legislation, claiming they did not know where or how to find qualified women.
Elin responded to this and The Professional Boards Forum brings together CEOs, chairmen, selection committees and experienced business women in an innovative and challenging setting.
Elin has placed women directors on the boards of several companies on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Based on this success, she decided to bring the Professional Boards Forum to the UK with LBS alumna Jane Scott.
Elin is a London Business School MBA with an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys serving on the boards of start-up companies.
